Who We Are

Confessing Christ Lutheran Ministries began as a church plant in Statesville, NC, in December 2024. Over the following year, it became increasingly clear that the greater need within our community was not simply for another local congregation, but for a ministry that could reach the unchurched and dechurched directly, equipping believers, educating Lutheran Christians in their faith and heritage, and providing resources that could strengthen churches and new church plants in various settings.

In light of this, Confessing Christ Lutheran Church was prayerfully transitioned into Confessing Christ Lutheran Ministries: a parachurch organization dedicated to teaching Christ, confessing faith, and restoring hope.

After a season of discernment and transition, Confessing Christ Lutheran Ministries is now based in Lexington, South Carolina, where its mission continues with renewed clarity and purpose. From this new home, CCLM carries the torch forward: proclaiming Christ crucified, teaching the faith once delivered to the saints, and producing resources that equip both individuals and congregations to stand firm in the truth of God’s Word. Rooted in the confessional heritage of the Lutheran Reformation, we remain committed to serving the Church and the world by offering faithful teaching, compassionate pastoral care, and hope for those seeking healing in the Gospel.

Our Mission Statement:
Confessing Christ Lutheran Ministries exists to proclaim Christ crucified, equip believers through faithful Lutheran teaching and catechesis, and offer Gospel-centered care and resources for those seeking truth, healing, and renewal in Christ.

Our mission flows from the same conviction that moved Martin Luther at the Diet of Worms, when he stood before the authorities of his age and declared that he could not and would not recant unless shown from Holy Scripture where he was wrong, for it is upon the Word of God that the Church stands or falls.

In that same spirit, Confessing Christ Lutheran Ministries exists to proclaim Christ crucified, equip believers through faithful Lutheran teaching and catechesis, and offer Gospel-centered care and resources for those seeking truth, healing, and renewal in Christ.

We stand firmly upon the Word of God as the final authority for faith and life, confessing Christ with both conviction and compassion. We speak the truth of God’s Law with clarity and the comfort of His Gospel with tenderness, calling sinners to repentance while extending the grace that restores and renews.

Our work serves two central callings. First, to build up confessing Christians by teaching the faith once delivered to the saints through sound Lutheran doctrine, worship, and catechesis. Second, to reach those who have been hurt or alienated by the Church, whether through misunderstanding, neglect, or genuine spiritual abuse, and invite them to find rest and belonging again in the mercy of Christ.

In all that we create, whether that be podcasts, articles, resources, or maybe one day in-person ministry, our goal is unwavering: to teach Christ faithfully, confess the faith boldly, and restore hope graciously, standing firm upon the unchanging Word of God amid all the storms of life.

Our Identity

Confessing Christ Lutheran Ministries is built upon five defining characteristics that shape our life, doctrine, and mission as Christians:

  1. Biblical
We are founded upon the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, the inspired and inerrant Word of God. We seek to proclaim it faithfully with Law and Gospel rightly distinguished, through teaching and expository methods that bring the whole counsel of God to bear upon the life of the believer. Scripture remains our sole authority for faith and practice.

  2. Sacramental
As a parachurch ministry, CCLM does not replace or replicate the sacramental life of the local congregation but seeks to support and point believers toward it. We joyfully confess that through Holy Baptism and Holy Communion, Christ Himself delivers forgiveness, life, and salvation to His people.

Because the Sacraments belong to the Church’s ministry of Word and Sacrament, they are rightly administered within the gathered congregation under called and ordained pastors. CCLM therefore exists not as a substitute for parish life but as a companion to it, encouraging believers to remain rooted in their local churches where they may regularly receive God’s gifts.

Our role is to teach, explain, and defend the sacramental life, helping those unfamiliar or estranged from the Church understand the grace and comfort Christ offers through these means.

  3. Confessional
We stand firm in the historic confessions of the Christian faith and make no apology for holding to the truths of Holy Scripture as articulated in the Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds. These creeds unite us with the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church across all generations.

  4. Lutheran
We adhere to the Lutheran Confessions, particularly the Unaltered Augsburg Confession of 1530 and the full Book of Concord (1580), as a faithful exposition of the Word of God. Our teaching, content, and counsel are shaped by the distinctives of confessional Lutheran theology, centered in Christ crucified, grounded in the Means of Grace, and animated by the joy of the Gospel.

  5. Evangelical
We are driven by the call to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world: to bring His Word of forgiveness and hope to those who have not yet heard it, and to those who have been wounded by the Church and doubt they can belong again. We long to see the lost found, the hurting healed, and all people brought to saving faith in Christ Jesus through the power of the Gospel.

Confessing Christ Lutheran Ministries serves alongside the Church, not apart from her, confessing Christ boldly, teaching His Word faithfully, and guiding the wounded and the weary back into the life-giving fellowship of Word and Sacrament.
